Statistical Methods in Psychological Science I

This is the first half of psychology's stats sequence, where you stop thinking of data as just numbers and start treating it as evidence — learning when a difference between groups is real signal versus noise. You'll work through weekly problem sets and quizzes covering distributions, hypothesis testing logic, and the basic toolkit (chi-square, t-tests), with hands-on practice in a stats package rather than just hand calculations. It's a prerequisite for PSYC 204 and every research methods course after it, so the goal is fluency: by the end you should be able to look at a study design and know which test belongs there and why.
