Service Business Management

THM 105 introduces how businesses actually run, with a lens tilted toward service industries where the "product" is largely an interaction between staff and customer. You'll move through the core management functions—ownership structures, organization, HR, marketing, pricing, and customer communication—through twelve quizzes, three homeworks, and written midterm and final exams built around the Bovee & Thill textbook. As a first-year required course in the tourism and hotel management track, it sets the vocabulary and frameworks you'll lean on in later operations, marketing, and HR electives, so the goal here is fluency with the basics rather than depth in any one area.
