Introduction to Tourism and Hospitality in the Digital Age

This course frames hospitality and tourism as an operations problem where every department — front office, housekeeping, F&B, accounting, sales — runs on integrated IT systems like Opera and Fidelio, and the goal is to understand how those pieces actually fit together to serve a guest. You'll move between lectures and on-site seminars led by the managers of the Bilkent Hotel, visit the rooms, kitchen, and restaurants, and be assessed through two quizzes and written midterm and final exams. As a Year 1 entry point for the THM track, it gives you the vocabulary and industry map you'll need before diving into the more specialized revenue, marketing, and sustainability courses that follow.
