TRIN 133 is the first-year French composition course where the focus shifts from grammar drills to actually *doing* things with the language, recognizing how register, style, and vocabulary change across different text types (descriptive, narrative, persuasive, dialogue, mixed) and producing your own writing in each mode. You'll work through two quizzes, a couple of essays, a project, and a steady diet of in-class debates and group discussions on current Francophone topics, so attendance and speaking up matter as much as the written work. As a required Autumn course for Translation and Interpretation freshmen, it sets the stylistic foundation you'll lean on in every later French-to-Turkish translation course, where knowing *which* French to use is half the job.
