TRIN 133 is the first-year French composition course where the focus shifts from grammar drills to actually *doing* things with the language — recognizing how register, style, and vocabulary change across different text types (descriptive, narrative, persuasive, dialogue, mixed) and producing your own writing in each mode. You'll work through two quizzes, a couple of essays, a project, and a steady diet of in-class debates and group discussions on current Francophone topics, so attendance and speaking up matter as much as the written work. As a required Autumn course for Translation and Interpretation freshmen, it sets the stylistic foundation you'll lean on in every later French-to-Turkish translation course, where knowing *which* French to use is half the job.
