Conference Interpreting

Conference interpreting is about delivering meaning in real time across languages while a high-stakes conversation keeps moving, so the course treats interpreting less as translation and more as a performance skill under pressure. Most of the work happens in the booth and in simulations: you rotate through committee sessions, head-of-state meetings, trade talks, court settings, and roundtables, drilling A↔B and C→A directionality until the shifts become reflexive. Assessment is almost entirely practical (one performance grade, two practical midterms, two practical finals), and the course sits at the professional end of the T&I track, turning the consecutive and sight-translation foundations from earlier courses into the kind of versatility expected in actual conference booths.
