Latin II

Latin II finishes what Latin I started: getting you to the point where you can actually parse a Classical Latin sentence on the page rather than just decline nouns in isolation. You work through the back half of Wheelock — the full passive system, participles, ablative absolutes, indirect statement, and the opening of the subjunctive — mostly via translation drills, workbook exercises, and a midterm/final built around the same. For Archaeology students it's the foundation that makes inscriptions, epigraphic evidence, and later Latin source texts readable instead of opaque, and it's the prerequisite layer for any serious classical or medieval research downstream.
