Introduction to Digital Archaeology

Archaeology now lives as much in databases and 3D models as in trenches, and this course is about getting comfortable working in that digital layer, understanding how spatial data, imagery, and visualization actually shape what we can say about the past. You'll move through hands-on work with tools like Google Earth Pro, GIS, RTI, photogrammetry, and basic statistics, building toward a small final project that integrates evidence with some form of digital analysis or visualization. Sitting in the third year, it ties your earlier fieldwork and material-culture courses to the methods you'll need for senior research, museum work, or any modern excavation team.
