Introduction to Digital Archaeology

Archaeology now lives as much in databases and 3D models as in trenches, and this course is about getting comfortable working in that digital layer — understanding how spatial data, imagery, and visualization actually shape what we can say about the past. You'll move through hands-on work with tools like Google Earth Pro, GIS, RTI, photogrammetry, and basic statistics, building toward a small final project that integrates evidence with some form of digital analysis or visualization. Sitting in the third year, it ties your earlier fieldwork and material-culture courses to the methods you'll need for senior research, museum work, or any modern excavation team.
