At its core, this course teaches you how to think about risk and return as a tradeable quantity, how prices get formed in financial markets, and how a rational investor decides what to hold. Expect to work through portfolio math (efficient frontiers, beta, CAPM, APT), bond and equity valuation problems, and a hands-on component where you apply the models to actual securities trading on Borsa İstanbul. It builds on introductory finance and statistics, and feeds directly into corporate finance, derivatives, and any later quant or asset-management elective, essentially the foundation for understanding why any asset is worth what it is.
