Capstone Project

TRIN 490 is where you stop studying translation and start producing translation studies — taking the theory, methods, and bicultural instincts you've built across the program and turning them into an actual piece of original research. You'll work in small groups to scope a question in translation or interpreting, build a proposal with a real literature review and methodology, run the study, and defend it through interviews, presentations, and a poster. It's the spring capstone, so expect the workload to be less about new content and more about whether you can run a project end-to-end the way a junior researcher or working translator would.
