TRIN 490 is where you stop studying translation and start producing translation studies, taking the theory, methods, and bicultural instincts you've built across the program and turning them into an actual piece of original research. You'll work in small groups to scope a question in translation or interpreting, build a proposal with a real literature review and methodology, run the study, and defend it through interviews, presentations, and a poster. It's the spring capstone, so expect the workload to be less about new content and more about whether you can run a project end-to-end the way a junior researcher or working translator would.
