Quantum chemistry is where you stop treating atoms as little solar systems and start taking the wavefunction seriously as the actual description of matter — this course builds that machinery from the postulates up, so you can write down a Schrödinger equation for a real system and know what its solutions mean. You'll grind through problem sets and quizzes on one-dimensional potentials (particle in a box, harmonic oscillator, tunneling), then work up to angular momentum, spin, and the hydrogen atom, with variation and perturbation methods as your tools when exact solutions run out. It's the foundation everything else in physical chemistry leans on: bonding, spectroscopy, and CHEM 328 all assume you've internalized what happens here.
