Interior Design Studio II

The second design studio is where you start treating interiors as real problems to solve rather than aesthetic exercises, you take a given space and program, work out how people actually move and live in it, and translate that into a coherent design grounded in materials, construction logic, and lighting. The semester runs on a warm-up project followed by a longer final project, paced by weekly desk critiques, two prejuries, and a midterm drawing exam. It builds directly on IAED 201 and lays the groundwork for the more demanding studios ahead, so the habits you form here, concept development, iteration under critique, defending decisions at jury, carry through the rest of the degree.

Students must submit major submissions to receive a passing grade from the course. If the student does not submit the requirements of the final jury on the scheduled date and/or does not attend the final jury without a doctor’s report, the student will be subject to receive a “FX” or “F” course grade.
