Principles of Accounting I

Although labeled a management course, this is really an accounting primer built for law students: the goal is to read financial statements well enough to understand what a client's books are actually saying when you walk into a contract dispute, a partnership dissolution, or a corporate matter. You'll work through the full accounting cycle by hand — journalizing transactions, posting, adjusting, closing, and then assembling the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement — with quizzes, homework, two midterms, and a final all in written-problem format. It sits as a standalone literacy course rather than a prerequisite chain, but the payoff shows up later in commercial law, tax, and any practice where you need to challenge or defend numbers instead of taking them at face value.
