Singing Voice II

The second semester of one-on-one vocal study, where you continue building the technique started in MSC 151 on a fresh, more demanding repertoire chosen with your instructor. Most of your time goes into individual practice and weekly studio lessons preparing assigned pieces, with assessment based almost entirely on practical juries, three midterm performances plus a final. The focus shifts from just hitting the notes to genuinely interpreting them: understanding the composer, period, and markings well enough that you can diagnose your own technical problems and design the practice routine that fixes them.
