Operations is where management meets engineering: how a firm actually turns inputs into products or services, and how you make that process faster, cheaper, and more reliable. You'll work through quantitative problems on capacity, layout, location, learning curves, and quality control, plus a project and case studies that push you to formulate a real operations problem and defend a solution. It sits next to your stats and management science courses and feeds directly into supply chain, quality, and any operations-heavy elective or internship — basically the toolkit for understanding why factories and service systems are designed the way they are.
