PSYC 350

Advanced Cognitive and Social Development

Building on the second-year developmental survey, this course pushes deeper into how children's minds actually come to work, tracing the line from infant cognition to the adult mind through constructivist, sociocultural, and neuroconstructivist lenses. You'll move between classic findings and current research on things like executive function, theory of mind, attachment, and prosocial behavior, with two midterm essays, a final, a homework, and active in-class discussion driving the grade. It's a required junior-year piece that connects the foundational Psych sequence to upper-level work in cognition, social psych, and any research path involving children.
