Social Psychology

Social psychology is the empirical study of how other people — real, imagined, or implied — shape the way individuals think, feel, and behave, from how you form snap judgments about a stranger to why ordinary people conform, obey, or hurt each other. You'll work through Myers' textbook alongside lectures, quizzes, a written report, and essay-format midterm and final, with a project pushing you to engage with actual studies rather than just memorize findings. As a core PSYC requirement, it gives you the experimental vocabulary and classic paradigms (Asch, Milgram, attribution theory) that later courses on personality, clinical, and organizational psychology will keep referring back to.
